Join us on Saturday, June 17 at 2:00 pm for an Exhibition Review with Awards Judge Elizabeth Deans.  Ms. Deans will discuss the works she chose for awards, as well as other works in the exhibition. Artists are also welcome to have Ms. Deans discuss their works.


This exhibition showcases a wide variety of imaginative fine arts that are unique, whimsical and functional, including: baskets, ceramics, fiber, glass, handmade paper, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media and wood. Awards will be given for outstanding works. This year we are highlighting works by several members:

Elizabeth Deans
Design Historian,
Assistant Director and Professor at the Smithsonian
George Mason University, VA

Ms. Deans is Director and Professor of Design History at GW's Decorative Arts & Design History Masters Program. Her seminars in the history of interiors, architecture, and ceramics, as well as survey courses in decorative art from Renaissance to modern, explore interdisciplinary relationships between design and material culture--investigating cultural exchange, materiality, mimesis, dissemination, diachronicness, and object theory.
