Artist Statement

I have been painting vintage diners and other roadside structures and signs that are fast becoming part of our fading Americana. I have been concentrating on this subject matter for over 35 years in New York where I lived and exhibited until a year ago when I moved to Delaware. I continue to paint similar images and have included some of these new "local" paintings in this exhibition. My work has been reviewed in the New York Times, Newsday, American Art Collector and several other publications and can been seen in the book “Diners," by Karen Offitzer, as well as American Artist Magazine. My preference for many years has been to utilize acrylic paints for its versatility, having evolved through years of oil painting and watercolor painting. My interest in this subject matter has never waned and I will continue to pursue it in the future.
