About the Artist

Michael Hower was born in Lebanon, PA and presently resides in the Harrisburg area with his wife and two children. He is a self-taught photographer who has been working in the medium of digital photography for the last four years. His work portrays human objects/structures in modified environments now devoid of human activity and conveys themes of wear, deterioration, and nature's reclamation of manmade environments via architecture and landscape.

His work has been featured in multiple exhibitions. His most recent juried shows include Biggs Shot and Biggs Picture, Biggs Museum of Art, and Exhibition 280, Huntington Museum of Art. His work has also been selected for display at the Masur Museum of Art, Marshall University, Lebanon Valley College, Gettysburg College, Maryland Federation of Art, and the Maryland State House of Representatives.

Mr. Hower will be participating in an Gallery talk along with other artists participating in current exhibitions on Saturday, Oct 14 beginning at 2:00pm.
