The Rehoboth Art League (RAL) since its founding has relied heavily on talented volunteers to help with the many aspects of its programming and the care of its grounds and facilities. We offer great perks such as a lovely campus, friendly people and creative artists.
How does it work?
There are several types of volunteers who donate their time and expertise to help RAL make a difference.
Program/Camp Volunteer
Individuals willing to donate their time to work directly with the teachers during children’s classes.
Event Volunteers
Individuals who are interested in supporting the openings and fundraising events at RAL. These volunteers will be trained and supported by RAL staff. Responsibilities include such things as assisting with event mailings, decorating, bartending, hosting, food service, cashiers, clean-up and other related duties.
Administrative Volunteers
Individuals who support our staff at the RAL. Typically, these volunteers will do: Docent coverage at the Homestead, filing, assemble mailings, perform computer tasks, cover phone lines, gallery coverage, etc.
Facilities/Grounds Volunteers
Individuals who enjoy working on projects, such as: painting, gardening, weeding, carpentry, and many other fix-it projects
Planning Committees
Individuals who will meet as needed with other volunteers and RAL staff to plan two major annual fundraising events—Cottage Tour in July and Outdoor Art Show in August. Responsibilities include: decision-making on certain aspects of each event, recruiting sponsors, and attending to details of event components (ie., identifying and recruiting homes for Cottage Tour).
Who can volunteer?
Anyone who would like to dedicate his/her time engaging with the Rehoboth Art League.
All volunteers will participate in an orientation training including the mission statement and history of the Rehoboth Art League. Program volunteers may also be required to participate in additional training regarding children and families.
Program volunteers that work directly with the children will also need to complete a criminal background check. This information is updated yearly, while the individual continues to volunteer at RAL.
