The Industrial Revolution started in Great Britain in what came to be called the Victorian Age. Along with the innovations and inventions of the time, came a backlash from a part of the public who longed for simpler more nature oriented lives. This was the premise of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood of painters, led by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. In the field of design, this was shown in a style called the Arts and Crafts Movement, led by William Morris. This influenced architecture, pottery, silver, glass, and all areas of design.
