Class Information
Values in all paintings are important. Challenge yourself to paint a watercolor portrait in black & white. Prior to adding that splash of paint to the paper, we’ll note the shifts from light to dark, better assuring a more pleasant outcome. First, we’ll sketch (or trace) the portrait followed by a light wash to establish light values. This is followed by a darker wash to establish shadows. Finally, details are added. The result will be a pleasant surprise. All artistic levels are welcome!
