Functional Mosaics Incorporating Stained Glass

Class Information

This class is a beyond-the-basics mosaic class for those who have completed at least one mosaic class and who possess skills in the use of wheeled nippers; cutting, shaping and adhering mosaic tiles to a substrate; familiarity and experience with adhesives used for mosaics; and grouting a mosaic.  This is not a beginners’ mosaic class.

The class will enhance the student’s mosaic skills and knowledge through the creation of a functional mosaic (e.g., a wooden tray or Lazy Susan) using stained glass and glass tile tesserae. Students may bring their own designs for a mosaic to the first class and will learn how to cut, shape and incorporate stained glass in a mosaic.  Supplies are included in the registration fee.
