Intermediate Drawing

Class Information

This class will build on the foundational skills learned in a prerequisite Beginning Drawing course (any instructor). Through the observation and interpretation of the natural world the artist gains understanding of form and discovers new ways to express ideas. We will continue developing the use of line and modeling while adding elements of perspective, lighting and composition. The course starts with brief exercises and demos and progresses to an extended individual project where the student will demonstrate proficiency and demonstrate individual style.  The course is based on the teachings of Art Students League instructor and author Kimon Nicolaides as set forth in his book “The Natural Way to Draw”.
