Class Information
This class deals with aspects of painting the landscape. We will discuss topics like: selection, theory of angles, aerial perspective, composition, light and color, edges and their importance.
Supply List
Recommended: Golden paints or Liquitex for acrylics and Utrecht or Gamblin for oils. Always choose the professional grade of paint not the student grade. Avoid very cheap no name brands.
Minimum Palette:
1. Cadmium Lemon Yellow
2. Cadmium Yellow Medium
3. Yellow Ochre

5. Burnt Sienna
6. Cadmium Red light
7. Alizarin Crimson
8. Ultramarine Blue
9. Phthalo Blue (green shade) or cerulean blue
10. Cobalt blue

Acrylic Brushes should be of good quality. Robert Simmons or Isaby are a decent brush, Rosemary brushes (online) are very good Round # 6, #2 ; Filbert #8,#4, #16 Bright #2,#6; Flat #4, #10. A palette knife (a small diamond shape with a metal blade and wood handle).
For Acrylics:
Liquitex acrylic medium/glazing medium 8 oz.
Airbrush medium /or extender medium
2 cans or jars for water. A small spray bottle filled with water
Oil Brushes Bristle: Flats, rounds, filberts, brights. Any combination of sizes from 2 through 12 (only 1 or 2 rounds) Soft synthetic sables: Flats and rounds, as well as a liner brush. A palette knife and/or painting knife -various sizes get ones with a bend in the handle.
For Oils:
Linseed oil, or walnut oil or poppy seed oil
Odorless turpentine(oil)
Jars to hold oil mediums
Stretched panels, sizes: any combination 8×10, 11×14, 12×16, 16×20, 14 x 18.
sketch pad and pencil, blending stump helpful as well as a kneaded eraser
