Artist Statement

I have been working in the pastel medium for over 25 years. During this time my style has evolved from when I first started, ‘The more you work at it, the more you grow as an artist’. The paintings in this exhibition are a direct result of that growth. For this exhibition I have harnessed representations of the land to demonstrate the effects of sunlight and spatial depth upon a scene.
