Artist Statement

I believe that every woman is a “femme fatale” in her own way. We can be dangerous and powerful with our bodies, but also with our hearts and minds. The show will feature a series of portrait oil paintings showing women who individually redefine femininity and how it inspires their power.

I love to paint the female figure as I feel that women have a distinct way of capturing emotion and telling a story. We express ourselves with the entirety of our body. With many of my paintings, I strive to create some form of a narrative to make the viewer question what is happening to the subject and why she looks or appears the way she does. Each painting is a bit ambiguous in nature as there could be many narratives or emotions happening within the subject.
