Pastel Paintings by Nick Serratore
February 12, 2021 - March 7, 2021
Opening Reception: Friday, February 12, 2021 (5-7pm)
Throughout my career as an artist, I constantly find myself building on from what I have previously learned and created. I strive to push the medium of pastels to new limits and find ways to incorporate these new discoveries into my work. I have always been drawn to quiet, contemplative landscapes and no matter how often I incorporate new ideas and techniques into my paintings, the end result still reflects my mission that there is no stasis in nature, but paradoxically, despite [its] change at work, the natural world provides the opportunity to experience moments of deep stillness like no other.
Nick was born and raised in Abington, PA. He graduated from the Hussian School of Art in Philadelphia and from Wilmington University. In the past three decades, he has had multiple solo exhibitions, participated in many charitable events, and won numerous awards for his pastel landscapes. In 2012, Nick won the Individual Artist Fellowship Grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts for emerging Delaware artist and recently won a 2020 Individual Fellowship for established artist. In addition to painting, Nick is the Exhibitions Director for the Rehoboth Art League
